Gilbert Lamphere, Jr. is an entrepreneur with ten years of start-up and venture capital experience. He started his career in wealth management, where he earned his Series 7 and 66. From 2011 to 2015, Gilbert worked at Morgan Stanley and Stifel, where his team managed over $300M. Gilbert developed investment models for ultra-high net worth clients and specialized in weekly option trading strategies.
In 2014, Gilbert left Wall Street and founded a live sports betting company, Pick a Play. A mobile platform, Pick a Play, enabled sports fans to bet on the outcome of individual plays within a sports game. The system was synced to the live broadcast of NFL, NCAAF, and MLB games. The company earned a software patent on the system and is in talks to license the software to casinos. The average user played for 3.5 hours every week; there were 17k monthly active users. Daily operations of the company ceased in 2018 due to the repeal of PASPA.
Following Pick a Play, Gilbert started managing a private investment portfolio and consulting for various early-stage companies located across the US. Industries included sports betting, augmented reality, and designer shoe insoles.
Snow skiing has always been a passion of Gilbert’s. He began working full-time for ReNewSnow in June 2021.
Gilbert graduated from Southern Methodist University in 2011 and earned a B.A. in Economics. His personal interests include snow skiing, golf (Handicap 2), poker, and sports odds analysis.
